Though the speech consists only of the word "Brains" said in many tones with limited gestures his zombies apparently understand him well enough to let loose a cheer of "BRAINS!" before shuffling away. Shortly before this, in a spoof of the war film Patton, Stubbs stands in front of an American flag hanging from a barn wall and gives a speech to his zombies. During the chaos, Stubbs kills Otis Monday by blowing up his house after a brief reunion. Stubbs rises from his grave as a zombie and decides to get his revenge by eating the brains of the inhabitants of Punchbowl, quickly creating his own army of the undead, causing increasing amounts of havoc as the zombies clash with the various militant factions of the area. It just so happens that the city, founded by Andrew Monday, Maggie's son, has been built directly on top of Stubbs' not-so-final resting place. The game takes place in the fictional city of Punchbowl, Pennsylvania at its opening ceremony in 1959. He temporarily finds happiness with a girl named Maggie Monday, but he meets his unfortunate end when Otis, Maggie's father comes home, chases him outside, and murders him, dumping his body in the wilderness. In 1933, Stubbs is a traveling salesman during the Great Depression trying to make a living. This title became available on Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace as a Xbox Originals on May 19, 2008.
Later, Valve Corporation made the game available for purchase via Steam on May 17, 2007.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is a third-person action video game developed by Wideload Games and published by Aspyr Media, and built with the Halo engine. Obviously, this controversy is dead and buried and wasn’t resurrected for the remaster’s release, but it does serve as a testament to how much video games have grown in the past 16 years. Senator Joe Lieberman for its depiction of “cannibalism,” its supposed real-world harm to young children, and more. It, alongside the horror franchise F.E.A.R., was criticized heavily by NIMF’s David Walsh and U.S. It’s worth mentioning that, during its original release in 2005, Stubbs the Zombie stirred up a little controversy. Alongside general remaster upgrades, it also features achievements/trophies and new modernized controls, which should help EGS users enjoy the classic in 2021. In early 2021, Stubbs the Zombie was remastered for PC, modern consoles (both contemporary generations), and the Nintendo Switch. Combined with the idea to make the game amusing and kind of cheesy, Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse was released in 2005 to generally favorable reviews on Xbox and average reviews on PC. The core concept of Stubbs the Zombie is pretty obvious, but it was always the intent of the developers to flip the standard horror zombie game approach on its head.
Indeed, without going too far into the plot, fatherhood is a primary theme alongside all of the undead video game content. While this method remains its dominant gameplay feature, it does have a story where interesting set pieces allow for interesting interactions for Stubbs and humans. NPC attacks on these hordes will attract the rest of the zombies too, with these crowds able to serve as a shield for Stubbs in Punchbowl, a 1950s retro-futuristic city. Video game zombies turned by Stubbs can follow him, assisting him in combat and the like, or they can be sent in a single direction to find humans and turn them into a zombie. Stubbs can, however, drive a variety of vehicles though. Stubbs isn’t able of using weapons, instead of using improvised weaponry and body parts in initiating combat. Each devoured brain restores some health and converts that human into a zombie. The overarching goal and gameplay loop in Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse is pretty simple: the player, a zombie, must kill humans and each their brains.
